Dunfanaghy
Dunfanaghy is blessed with a wonderfully scenic setting. The holiday resort is situated on the western shores of Sheephaven Bay with the dramatic Horn Head Peninsula lying just to the north. The iconic Muckish Mountain is ever present in the background. There are three small fishing lakes in the immediate vicinity of the village while Ards Forest Park is just 7km away. The superb Tramore Strand is a totally unspoilt beach on the western side of Horn Head – an ideal place for a bracing walk. Indeed the entire region around Dunfanaghy is a walker’s paradise with a great variety of coastal, mountain and forest walking trails. Dunfanaghy also lies along the route of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.
